Monthly Wrap

It’s Time to Wrap Up The Month of August!

Hello friends, and how are you …welcome to the blog!

What’s up, friends, and happy mid-week Wednesday.  I hope you’re being productive, checking in with friends and family, staying hydrated, and taking care of your mind and body.

It’s the 30th and just about the end of August and the cusp of September.  I’m ready for some cool, rainy days and some Fall temps, STAT.  It’s been a busy August (on a personal note), and it’s also been hard, with family on both sides in the hospital, one passing, and the overall grayness of my mood.

I’m ready to feel good again and take advantage of the city without getting sick (as I’ve purposefully managed to dodge the “thing” since the beginning). My blog is a blessing and the best distraction to take my mind off everything that’s happening and just be.  That was a heck of an intro ….And so it goes.

A Round-Up of Posts for the Month

Inspo & Activity Boards

August Inspo Board

Continuing this action of creating an Inspo board for the month to brighten my mood.  I have had some great experiences over the past few weeks, and while it’s hot and miserable, I was still able to have a good time.

Scroll to the bottom of this post for the museum slideshow photos.  I visited the National Museum of African-American History and the National Museum of American History.  DC has so many great things to do.

Summer Fun Bingo/Don’t Call it a Bucket List

I can’t believe all the things I managed to do from my Summer Bingo list. But there were several things I just didn’t get around to as time wouldn’t permit.

THINGS I DIDN’T DO…
* A new puzzle
** A weekend trip
*** Make some new art
**** Get a new album
***** Make sorbet
****** Visit a new bookshop

Weekday Bedtime Routine Post

This rarely changes, but it was fun for me to narrow down how I prepare for a restful night. But this will also change once I’m in the office more.

EXCERPT: I don’t like to make things difficult when my body is tired, and because I’ve struggled with sleep for the last 7 years, I’ve fine-tuned my routine to just a few things that prepare my mind and body for a (somewhat // which translates to menopause) restful sleep.

Armoire Storage Post

I still haven’t found anything, but I’ll admit that I haven’t been to the thrift store as of yet.  I’ve only searched Facebook Marketplace.  I honestly don’t see all the hype here because I can never find anything.  I’ve also looked in stores, and I refuse to have to assemble anything.

Hopefully, I can get thrifting by October.

What Did I Watch in August? Nothing…

I just didn’t do much TV this month because everything I wanted to see was in theaters, and by the time I made time to go, I said the movie wasn’t playing when it was convenient, so maybe September will be my movie Month.

MOVIES, SERIES & DOCUMENTARIES
The 2010s (CNN)
Kevin Hart: Reality Check (Peacock)
Location, Location, Location (PBS)
Even though it’s old, we just love watching this, it’s addictive

Books for the Month of July

My book reading has slowed down a bit because I’ve been updating my website; however, I’ve completed a few in August, and for the first time …I’m caught up on ALL my reviews on Good Reads.

Mosaic, Catherine McCarthy
The Agathas, Kathleen Glasgow
The Grimmer, Nabem Ruthnum

GOOD READS CHALLENGE PROGRESS

This year has been a record number (for me), and I’ve read a total of 31 books so far. I’m currently reading Kill River by Cameron Roubique, The Only One Left by Riley Sager, and The Horror at Plesant Brook by Kevin Lucia. At the end of the year, I’ll do a full list, but for the purposes of this post, I’ve condensed the books in the graphic to the last few months.

My Printable Section

September and October calendars are available in the “free downloads” section on the blog, and I’ve updated my free domain art sources. I’ve also updated my Halloween games pack, which is available to download.  I’ll update the games again at the beginning of October.

Podcast Series Update

I just finished Season 2 of the podcast, and let me say that creating 20 episodes was no easy feat. Time, effort, and all-around force got the molasses out of my ass to finish the second season. (And yes, a third is coming after a much-needed break), Check out the playlist to get caught up on the latest episodes.

Here is my Museum Visit Slideshow!

Well, Friends, I think I’ve covered everything in this round-up. Thanks so much for visiting and being a part of my little corner of the world here on the blog.  If you haven’t, don’t forget to follow and subscribe, as I really appreciate your support here on the blog. — Peace
