Small Hallway Organization With an IKEA Kallax

Hello Friends and welcome to the blog today.

It’s mid-week-Wednesday…how ya’ll feelin’?  I hope you’re enjoying the weather, staying hydrated, checking in with family and friends, and living happy.  I’m doing much better as last week I was under the weather.  I’m still not sure what it was but my throat was so sore.  I haven’t had a sore throat since my early 20s, so it made everything just that much more difficult.

I realize that I shouldn’t feel any type of way for not posting but sometimes I get in my head that I absolutely under no circumstances need to post something no matter how I feel.  That kinda thinking needs to stop, and in my adult mind, I know there is nothing wrong with getting some rest and turning my brain off for a while.

It Wasn’t All Rest

I took some time to let my daughter chauffer me and run some errands which mean a quick trip to IKEA for some much-needed organization.

I can always find everything I need and then some, so it was time to tackle my upstairs hallway and all the stuff that most people put in a linen closet.

The Dream

We all want this type of linen closet organization right.  I mean look at it, it’s everything wonderful and all in one neat spot.  The reality is that I don’t have that space or even an extra closet, so I have to work with what I have, and for me, that was getting some kind of storage that would work for my space

I purchased a Kallax Shelf (8-cube) from IKEA, along with two baskets and 2 door inserts.  The cost for everything was about $175.00.

I put together a quick Youtube slideshow to see how this turned out.

We’ve been living with it for a few days and it’s still a bit to get used to as you turn the corner, but I don’t care.  I’m one of those crazy people that like to see corners and clean spaces.

Soon I’ll tackle this laundry closet …but for now, the space is working.  It’s also helped me re-purpose a few other things.

Summer is always the best time (for me) to have a good clear-out. I did a small Salvation Army drop off and at the end of June, I’m going to through my storage unit to clear out more stuff in there as well.

Thanks so much for visiting the blog today.  Don’t forget to follow and subscribe as it really helps out my little site.  Have a great Wednesday! — Peace —
