Welcome to the 31 Days of Halloween in Movies
Quote for Halloween
“Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we’re opened, we’re red.” – Clive Barker

Hello Friends, and welcome to Day #7 of the 31 Days of Halloween in Movies, 2026. In this (Blog-tober) series, I will post every day for 31 days in October. This year I’m continuing the movie series with a new theme each week.
Friends, we’ve entered Week #2 of the Blog-Tober series, and I’m glad you’re still with me. I hope you are doing well this season and enjoying some fun October festivities. With that, let’s continue with this week’s theme.
…”The Last Recording”📼.

More about this week’s theme….
Found footage 🎞️ horror is a different kind of scare because it feels grounded in reality. It often features actors who weren’t mainstream at the time (depending on when it was filmed), which makes everything feel just a little more believable. It’s also a style that’s nearly impossible to recreate, which is why Blair Witch II never captured the same magic as the original.
That shaky handheld camera, low-budget look, and imperfect filming only add to the feeling that maybe you’re watching something you weren’t supposed to see. Today’s movie…
DAY #7
MOVIE: Grave Encounters, 2011
IMDb: Rating: 6.4
Genre: Found Footage Horror, B-Horror
Starring: Benjamin Wilkinson ✨ Sean Rogerson ✨ Ashleigh Gryzko
SYNOPSIS:
The crew of a ghost-hunting TV show holes up in an abandoned psychiatric hospital, hoping to catch some spooks on camera – a scenario that can only ever end badly, and it does. [TRAILER]
THOUGHTS: B-horror is definitely how I would classify this, and of course, in every ghost-hunting-style movie or “real” (scripted) TV show, there always seem to be a few folks who weigh on the nerves. I say this because in a real situation, you wouldn’t behave this way. That’s the one thing that tends to give these movies away…well, that and the effects. Still though, it was entertaining and another movie added to the list.
“This place is about as haunted as a sock drawer.”.
I hope you enjoyed your Day #7 movie post; stay tuned for Day #8.
