Welcome to the 31 Days of Halloween in Movies
Hello Friends, and welcome to Day #2 of the 31 Days of Halloween in Movies, 2026. In this (Blog-tober) series, I will post every day for 31 days in October. This year I’m continuing the movie series with a new theme each week.

Week #2 – The Last Recording Week [Days 6-11]

Week #4 – The Brain Buffet Week [Days 18-24]
Week #5 – Black Horror Rising Week [Days 25-31]
Maniac Matriarch Week Continues
For each movie, I’ll provide general information (title, details, rating, and synopsis). If I’ve seen the movie, I’ll provide some feedback (or not…LOL); otherwise, I’ll be right there with you, enjoying the scares.
This week is dedicated to the women who hold their families together—until they’re pushed too far. These matriarchs are fiercely protective, relentlessly determined, and just a little (or a lot) unhinged when it comes to defending the people they love or settling old scores. The phrase “hell hath no fury” doesn’t even begin to cover it. Whether they’re demanding loyalty, seeking revenge, or making sure everything goes their way, these women prove that crossing the family matriarch is almost always a very bad idea.
DAY #2
MOVIE: Friday the 13th, 1980
Rated: R
IMDb: Rating: 6.4
Genre: B-Horror, Slasher
Starring: Betsy Palmer ✨ Adrienne King ✨ Jeannine Taylor
SYNOPSIS:
Crystal Lake’s history of murder doesn’t deter counselors from setting up a summer camp in the wooded area. Superstitious locals warn against it, but the fresh-faced young people—Jack (Kevin Bacon), Alice (Adrienne King), Bill (Harry Crosby), Marcie (Jeannine Taylor), and Ned (Mark Nelson)—pay little heed to the old-timers. Then they find themselves stalked by a brutal killer. As they’re slashed, shot, and stabbed, the counselors struggle to stay alive against a merciless opponent. [TRAILER]
And speaking of Friday the 13th… Peacock is taking us back to where it all began with Crystal Lake, a new prequel series centered on Pamela Voorhees and a young Jason. Linda Cardellini steps into the role of Pamela, and from the looks of it, we’re getting plenty of Camp Crystal Lake atmosphere, family history, and—of course—bloodshed. The series premieres October 15, just in time for spooky season. [TRAILER]
“Kill’er Mommy.“
