Hello friends, and welcome or welcome back to the blog!
“Honor the quiet ways you’ve built safe spaces, both for yourself and those around you.” – The Good Trade.
How are you today? I hope you are staying productive, reading a good book, staying hydrated, and getting plenty of rest.

It’s August, Baby? What you got planned this month?
I just want to let out a big sigh. July has been a month…of things. I’ve been emotionally stressed, and with that comes its own anxiety. I haven’t posted as much as I wanted to, nor have I been able to focus or read as much as I’d like because there’s simply been so much going on. Our office renovation is finally done. We moved to a different floor back in October, and this July we moved back to our original floor—but not to our original space. Do I like it…NO. However, I keep reminding myself, I don’t have long.
I no longer have an office, just a desk, so I’m feeling some kind of way about that. The contrast in roles is hard to ignore. There are five Administrative Coordinators, and every one of us has a desk while literally everyone else has an office. Granted, those folks don’t have it much better because they’re behind unfrosted glass, so it’s like working in a fishbowl all day.
It’s been hard to concentrate. I can’t really explain it, but work has taken a toll on me lately, and since work is such a big part of my life, it’s spilled into everything else. The good news is that this chapter is coming to an end. I’m actively planning my retirement—which is exciting and terrifying all at the same time—but I’ll save that conversation for another day.
For now, let’s get into everything I blogged about…or, in some cases, didn’t…this month.

| I really lost my motivation last month. It’s not that I didn’t have a plan to post; life tends to get in the way when you’re busy making other plans. ᯓ➤ Click on the image for the full blog post. | ![]() |

I’d like to get back to a regular schedule for August, so fingers crossed. I’m also planning my 31 Days of Halloween at this point, so I have a lot of things coming. Stay tuned |

MOVIE LINKS
I did see a few things but not much. I’m pretty bummed that they took Gilmore Girls off Netflix, but alas, there is light, because it’s streaming on Hulu. I didn’t know how I was going to begin my Fall season without it. Otherwise, no Odyssey, no Spiderman, just a few documentaries.
Deadstream (Netflix, 2022)
The Crash (Netflix, 2026)
The Houses October Built (Shudder, 2014)

Well friends, I’ve come to the end of this post. I’m hoping to end the summer with a few fun events or maybe a weekend trip ᯓ even a book fair would do wonders to lift my spirits.
When everything seems to be coming at you all at once, it can feel overwhelming. Breathe. ༄ I’m looking forward to a slower, more relaxing August and the quiet excitement of a new season. I’ve already pulled my Fall décor out of storage because, honestly, it makes me smile, and I can’t wait to start decorating.
The real star is Halloween, and I have 3 bins full of goodness. 🎃
I realized my collection is pretty simple these days—mostly foliage, pumpkins, and a few seasonal dish towels—and that’s completely intentional. Over the years, I donated all the signs and little tabletop knickknacks because they never really felt like me. Somewhere along the way, I convinced myself I needed all the “Fall, Y’all” signs and squirrels holding acorns to celebrate the season. (LOL.) It took a while, but I’ve finally settled into a more subtle decorating style that lets the colors of autumn do the talking, and I think it suits me much better.
Until next time, thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you’re finding little pockets of joy wherever this season finds you. Take care. 🤎 ∞—Into the further we go…
