My Home Chef Favorites

Posted on July 15, 2020July 17, 2020 by LifeByWyetha

Hello friends, and Welcome to the blog! If this is your first time visiting, I’m glad you stopped by, and I hope you consider subscribing.

If your already part of the family, I’m glad you’re with me again.

How is everyone doing on this Wednesday?  I hope everyone is doing well.  For all your teachers and educators out there I’m sending up prayers for you health and safety as well as the health and safety of your students.

“Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”  + 1 Peter 5:7

Today I’m sharing my favorite Home Chef meals. These are meals that I’ve been loving as of late, and I always return to them.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>Since April I’ve found it even more difficult to grocery shop (online) as grocery stores are sold out of so many simple ingredients.  Making a basic meal was stressful.  I remember in the beginning how I couldn’t even get a box of cornbread or blueberries.  (It was crazy).  I then decided that I would try a meal kit service.

p style=”text-align: justify;”>Having already tried Hello Fresh (which I didn’t care for) I thought I would try Home Chef.  My daughter has gifted these to a few of her friends so it came highly recommended (LOL).

What is Home Chef?

Home Chef is a Chicago, Illinois-based meal kit and food delivery company that delivers pre-portioned ingredients and recipes to subscribers weekly in the United States.  These meals cater to just about every dietary need, so if your gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan you can find a meal kit on Home Chef to suit your family’s needs. Home Chef not only provides meal kits but you can also take advantage of their “Oven Ready” meals which only require a fraction of the time to prepare.  You just follow the instructions, put them in the oven ready pan that’s provided, and you’re done.

For all you picky eaters out there who don’t want the meal-kit experience, Home Chef offers protein packs.  This means they only provide you with your choice of poultry, beef, or seafood (about 6 servings). You can also find Home Chef meal kits at your local grocery store if you don’t want to commit to a subscription service. Home Chef is also doing its part to help communities affected by COVID by providing meals to needy families.

My Favorite Home Chef Meals

So now that I’ve talked this up, let’s get into my favorite meals from Home Chef.

Al-Pastor Pork Tacos with Pineapple and Chipotle … this meal had a few more steps (as tacos have several moving parts…LOL) but was delicious.  You think in your head how these ingredients and flavors don’t go together, but I’m telling you it was so good.

Salmon with Miso Butter and Green Beans Amandine … this meal is hands-down my favorite and I’ve made this twice (without the meal-kit).  I honestly didn’t know what miso paste was until I had this (I also didn’t realize how much it was…LOL).  It was really light and easy to prepare, but also very healthy and filling.  I’ve added this one to my recipe box.

Salmon with Brown-Butter Tomato Relish and Wild Rice … now admittedly I wasn’t too crazy about the mustard added in the sauce for the relish but just cutting back on that made all the difference. As you can tell I LOVE salmon and the brown-butter tomato relish is easy enough to make and tailor to my taste.

Try It!

I can’t just leave you with all these good meal suggestions without something, so here’s is my discount code to try Home Chef and get $35 dollars of your first order. With meals starting at $8.99 (meals range from $8.99-$12.99) you can get at least 2-4 servings of one meal (depending on the meal) FREE.

Are you looking to incorporate some new dishes, or —> are you having trouble finding supplies for groceries due to high demand? Then give Home Chef a try and make a commitment to eating healthier.

With that, I’ll end this here.  Again … thanks for hanging with me today, and have a blessed one.

Snaps

The one time I remember to take a picture of the meal.  Usually, we are so pressed to eat I forget to snap a picture.  This is the Salmon Brown-Butter with Tomato Relish.
