July 30-Day Challenge

MacrovectorDear….”30-Day Challenge”,

I have failed you for the past month or so [LOL] and this is very true.  I’ve been stressed dealing with my dad going through his dementia and non-stop meetings at work.

My body is carrying a lot anxiety and I haven’t been doing any regular yoga.  This could just be the heat of Summer, or my lack of focus which makes me feel like I’m dragging all the time.

I’ve stopped taking my multi-vitamins which has everything to do with my mood swings, hot flashes, and restlessness.  With that said … “Hello, friends and happy Wednesday.  I’m back with an update on my challenge progress [or lack thereof] for June, and new challenges for July.

June Challenge Overview

Where do  I begin?  June hit me like a truck and I’ve haven’t been able to recover. Not sure if this means I should take another pause or if I should keep going.  In my head, I hear … “Just Keep Swimming” … “Just Keep Swimming”, and if you know what animated movie that is, let me know in the comments.

No Pasta

1 // This was a failure but not a miserable one. The one thing that has been reliable is my diet.  My snack-age needs work, but I’m getting most of the nutrients I need.  During the month of June, I’ve partaken in pasta on three occasions.

Cutting back on dairy to once per week

2 //  There were high hopes for this challenge, but alas … I failed due in part to cheese.  I don’t eat cheese every day, but at least 2-3 times per week so cutting back at this time wasn’t reasonable, and I just have to own that.

Purge-Purge-Purge

3 //  I had the fever in May, but I lost steam in June.  I’m still working on my bedroom, but I’m at a standstill with completing some other projects that need to be done.  For now, my bedroom, craft, and junk closet will have to hold out until September.  At that point, I’ll be able to plan and manage that task.

July Challenge!

Again … I’m at a point where I don’t want to make excuses for what could or couldn’t be accomplished, because that’s done-deal.   I expected the Summer months would be hard because this is about the time that most resolutions bite the dust.

So the goal is to keep my focus and do this week by week. Before I know it, August will be here.   Here’s what’s up for July! [Free Printable Download below]

This Month…

1. DAILY DEVOTIONALS – I’ve found this app called the Bible for Women & Daily Studies, and I want to get back into the practice of reading.  The devotionals tab has options for AM and PM, so if I miss the morning I can always read this before bed.

2. NO SNACKS OVER 15 CARBS – This was no problem earlier this year, but I fell off due to the lack of trying.  My snacks have to be planned in order for a win, so I want to be in the practice of having something good as well as meeting my carb budget.

3. 3-4 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS PER DAY ON WEEK DAYS – If I put my mind to it there’s nothing that I can’t accomplish and I know I can do this.

Outlook

What can I say about not getting things done that I wanted to accomplish … not much.  I can only do what is in my power to do, without creating a stressful environment.   My problem is that I’m thinking to much about what to do, and I’m not enjoying any of my accomplishments.

Then I’m on to the next month without savoring anything good.  My overall plan is to have a healthier lifestyle through these monthly challenges and to see how my body responds to them over time.
