Hello friends, and welcome, or welcome back, to the blog!
“We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.” ― Kurt Vonnegut, Mother Night
Friends, how are you? I hope you’re enjoying the Fall season, and Happy Halloween {post}…LOL.
Take advantage of some Fall mysteries with a good book; even though it’s chilly, stay hydrated and get plenty of rest.

It’s sweater 🧥weather. Finally..
I’m doing a little backtracking here on the blog! With all my time and energy going into getting the 31 Days of Halloween in Movies series up and running, my September wrap-up got pushed to the back burner. So, a little catching up is in order!
First, I’ll be wrapping up September, followed by my October Bookish Newsletter. Then, I’ll put a bow on the 31 Days of Halloween in Movies series and share a little behind-the-scenes look at how I manage to pull it all together.
So, with that said, let’s get into it!

I will admit that I was neglectful in posting because the bulk of my energy went into the 31 Days of Halloween in movies, but I still managed to squeeze a posts in as well as some other activities.
Here’s what I enjoyed on and offline.
📰 Articles and stories I enjoyed in September!
✚ Seasonal Living Isn’t Just A Wellness Trend — It’s How We Were Designed To Live
For most of human history, “seasonal living” wasn’t a wellness practice or a trip to the storage space to get out the seasonal decor we’ve convinced ourselves we need (guilty). It was simply how we lived. What we ate, how much daylight we experienced, when we slept and woke, how we moved, and how much time we spent outdoors naturally shifted throughout the year.
✚ Why Staying Put Isn’t The Same As Settling
I grew up flying across the Midwest as an unaccompanied minor between my parents, one of whom lived in Minnesota, the other in Ohio. I didn’t know anyone else who boarded a plane to see their other parent every few months. And while there is a lot to be said about how having two parents under the same roof would have been more ideal, I grew to appreciate the rhythm of these flights. Being up in the sky felt like an escape. Up there, I could be anyone I wanted.
✚ A Turn-On Isn’t Something You Find, It’s Something You Cultivate
There’s a conversation happening online right now about women wanting to “get their spark back” — their libido, their confidence, their sensuality, their aliveness. I understand the longing behind it. But I think we need to stop talking about turn-on as though it’s something magical that either appears out of nowhere or vanishes forever. Because turn-on isn’t something you find. It’s something you cultivate — slowly, daily, through the way you live.
✚ The Wellness Industry Has A Diversity Problem — And Women Deserve Better
For decades, much of medical research centered on male bodies, with women significantly underrepresented in clinical research. It wasn’t until 1993 that federal law required women to be included in NIH-funded clinical research.

Friends, that wraps up last month’s blog happenings, which isn’t much, and I’m okay with that. I had a blast this Halloween season bringing you that series, as my October wrap will follow this one (shy of some days…I do need rest), and then it’s on to some Thanksgiving (Friendsgiving) planning and prep.
I’m back to my Fall (Harvest) decor for holidays until December 1st, when it’s all about Christmas. Thanks for stopping by, and I’ll see you soon. — Duces 🤎 ∞—Into the further we go…
