Welcome to the 31 Days of Halloween in Movies.
Hello Friends, and welcome back to Day #11 of “Blogtober” and the 31 Days of Halloween. I hope you are doing well, enjoying the season, fashioning your home (wow, that dates me) with Halloween decor, and trying some tasty treats.

This concludes Week #2 of the Paranormal horror genre, and we’re ending with one of my favorites. Today’s feature is “The Conjuring,” directed by James Wan. Ladies and gentlemen, this IS a scary movie.

📼 About Today’s feature 📼
The Conjuring franchise is a total of 10 films, with the tenth and final film (The Conjuring: Last Rites) premiering September 5th in theaters. (Yes, we have seen it and I enjoyed it.) I’m only featuring the first Conjuring in this post.
Day #11
MOVIE: The Conjuring
Director: James Wan
Year: 2013
IMDB Rating: 7.5
Genre: Supernatural, Horror, Mystery, Thriller
Runtime: 1h 52m
Tomato 🍅 Meter: 86%
Starring: Patrick Wilson ✨ Vera Farmiga ✨
SYNOPSIS: In 1970, paranormal investigators and demonologists Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) and Ed (Patrick Wilson) Warren were summoned to the home of Carolyn (Lili Taylor) and Roger (Ron Livingston) Perron. The Perrons and their five daughters have recently moved into a secluded farmhouse, where a supernatural presence has made itself known. Though the manifestations are relatively benign at first, events soon escalate horrifyingly, especially after the Warrens discover the house’s macabre history. [TRAILER]
MY RATING [0-5]: (✨✨✨✨✨) I’m partial to The Conjuring Universe, and hands down, it’s the best and one of my favorite universes. Granted, the other movies woven into the franchise (i.e., Annabelle, The Nun, and Llarona) aren’t great, but they provide context and backstory for the films. In my opinion, there isn’t a bad Conjuring. They are all done well and tie back to the original true-life characters, Ed and Lorraine Warren. I think I’ve seen every documentary featuring them, but one I really like is ‘DEVIL’S ROAD: The True Story of Ed and Lorraine Warren.
