Hello, friends, and welcome to (or welcome back) to the blog.

Friends, how are you this season? It’s already hot and muggy in my neck of the woods, but we’ve had some lovely days mixed in there. The first day of Summer has “officially” commenced, and I’m already thinking about Fall with this post.
Still tho’ — stay hydrated, eat some good food, and create some lasting memories this season.
Today I’m sharing some SummerWeen reads! This is my second year joining in on the fun, and honestly, it’s the perfect way to survive the heat of summer. While everyone else is headed to the beach, I’m over here dreaming of crisp air, moody nights, warm drinks, and the rich colors of Fall. Until then, a stack of spooky books will do just fine. 📖🍂👻
🎃👻🍬🦇💀🧡
I’ve searched Fable, BookTube, Goodreads, and Book Riot to put together a list of SummerWeen-worthy reads. Some of these I’ve already read and enjoyed, while others are still waiting patiently on my TBR (if I can get to them this year!). While SummerWeen recommendations often lean heavily into slashers, I’ve included a mix of titles that venture beyond that subgenre. These books range from about 250 to 500 pages, so you can savor a single read all summer long as I do 👻, or breeze through a few shorter ones to keep the spooky vibes going. 📚🍂

I’ve read quite a few titles from this list, so I can confidently say they’re perfect for the season. There are also a handful I’ve had my eye on for a while, along with a couple patiently waiting on my TBR. My ideal summer day is a slow one—curled up with a good book, a fruit popsicle in hand, listening to birds sing with the occasional city traffic in the background. (Hey, I live in the city, so that’s what peace sounds like to me.) Happy SummerWeen, friends, and happy reading! 📚🍉👻
