What’s On My Spring Watchlist?

Posted on April 23, 2025April 18, 2025 by LifeByWyetha

Hello, and thank you for peeking in today.

How are you today? I hope you stay productive, read a good book, drink plenty of water, get enough rest, and remain positive in this chaotic environment.

QUOTE FOR TODAY
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” (1986)

Movies, movies, movies...there are so many choices when it comes to what you want to see and in what genre.  I mostly favor horror, suspense, action, and a few independent films. It doesn’t always have to be the big-budget blockbuster.  It can be the sleeper hit that no one saw coming.

My daughter and I love our movie-binge days during the holidays.  But who needs a holiday to enjoy a movie?  Any excuse is good for me.  With that, I’ve curated a small list of films that have piqued my interest.  Here’s what’s on my list, so far.

Most of the movies I want to see are newer, and this is only a fraction of my overall list, which is growing by the day.  At some point, I’ll write a post listing all the movies I want to see (in my lifetime), but that’s for another day.

Key = 👀 [seen it]

**Click the title for the movie trailer**

👀 Timestalker (2024)
Hapless Agnes repeatedly falls for the wrong guy, dies a grim death, and is reincarnated a century later. As she experiences romantic misfortune through different eras of history, Agnes seeks to avoid repeating mistakes and finally break the cycle. (October)

👀 The Baby in the Basket (2025)
A baby in a basket is left on the steps of an isolated monastery on a Scottish island. The nuns take it in, planning to care for it until a storm passes. Soon, though, strange and unexplained events begin to happen at the convent. (February//FREE on Tubi)

The Monkey (2025)
When twin brothers find a mysterious wind-up monkey, a series of outrageous deaths tears their family apart. Twenty-five years later, the monkey begins a new killing spree, forcing the estranged siblings to confront the cursed toy once again. (February)

The Conjuring: Last Rites (Sept 2025)
Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren take on one last terrifying case involving mysterious entities they must confront. (September)

Death of a Unicorn (2025)
When a man and his daughter accidentally hit and kill a unicorn with their car, his boss tries to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties — with horrific results. (March)

Until Dawn (2025)
One year after her sister disappeared, Clover and her friends head to the remote valley where she vanished to search for answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they soon encounter a masked killer who murders them one by one. However, when they mysteriously wake up at the beginning of the same night, they’re forced to relive the terror over and over again. (April)

Opus (2025)
A young writer travels to the remote compound of a legendary pop star who mysteriously disappeared 30 years ago. Surrounded by a cult of sycophants and intoxicated journalists, she soon finds herself in the middle of his twisted plan. (March)

Call of the Void (2025)
After the death of her brother, Moray tries to escape to a cabin in the woods when her retreat is derailed by a college band and their suspicious professor. They encounter a mysterious hum that once heard, there is no return. (April)

Drop (2025)
Violet is a widowed mother who goes to an upscale restaurant to meet Henry, her charming and handsome date. However, her pleasant evening soon turns into a living nightmare when she receives phone messages from a mysterious, hooded figure who threatens to kill her young son and sister unless she kills Henry. (April)

The Parenting (2025)
Boyfriends Josh and Rohan plan a weekend getaway to introduce their parents, only to discover that their rental is home to a 400-year-old poltergeist. (March)

This is an ambitious list, to say the least. However, if movies are streaming, it makes it easier.  The Conjuring isn’t until September, so that movie is a bonus. I don’t LOVE the theater, but I’m not opposed to it either. My preferred time is during an off day in the middle of the week.  (perfect) My list, except one, consists only of movies that premiered in March and April—so more flicks to come.

What are you excited to see this season, and do you prefer going out to the theater or being cozy at home?  Let me know in the comments.

With that, I’ll end here.  Thanks so much for visiting today, and don’t forget to follow the blog.  Until next time.  — Duces ✌🏾
