My Late Thanksgiving Day Prep

Hello everyone and welcome to another beautiful week!

“The thinnest yellow light of November is more warming and exhilarating than any wine they tell of”. — Henry David Thoreau

Welcome or welcome back to the blog, and thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you are doing well, giving yourself grace, and checking in with friends and family during this holiday season.

I’ve been out of sorts for the past few months, especially with the Fall holidays and planning.  I’m usually way ahead of the game during this point, but work, and a trip to Atlanta have really set me back.  Not just on this platform but everything in general.  I did put my Thanksgiving Day Prep checklist on the front page of the blog, but that’s two weeks past due.

Dining Table Centerpiece (I’ll add a few more small pumpkins that I have from Halloween

So now with a few days left, we are sprinting to the fishing line to have a great meal and get things done with no stress. There are a few things I did at the 2-week mark (which should have been the 3-week).

  • Confirm guest ✔️
  • Menu planning with Bianca ✔️
  • Table decor ✔️
  • We have storage containers ✔️
  • Kitchen gadgets work ✔️

Now I’m zooming forward as my two small turkey breasts are defrosting, shopping phase 1 is done, phase 2 will be delivered, and today I’m headed back to the store for some greenery, my fresh vegetables, and two more items, and we are all set.

This year we WILL start a good portion of the sides early. (I’m just speaking it into existence. (LOL)

Monday: Last of the shopping
Tuesday: Making my herb butters, cleaning my greens, cleaning out the fridge
Wednesday: Clean my half bath and entryway, set my table; make my collards, start the macaroni noodles, and make the sweet potato cornbread
Thursday: Showtime! (LOL)
Friday: Relax

That is our simple menu this year.  I’m also including these popular Fall essential oils if you like mixing your own for cleaning or a diffuser.  My favorite combos are orange and nutmeg or lavender and pine

Thanks so much for checking out this short post today.  Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday, may you eat well and enjoy your time with friends and loved ones. —
