Welcome to the 31 Days of Halloween in Movies
Quote for Halloween
“I’m the devil, now kindly undo these straps”. – The Exorcist, 1973

Hello Friends, and welcome to Day #9 of the 31 Days of Halloween in Movies, 2026. I hope you’re enjoying my Blog-tober series as we near the end of week 2. Why does my beloved month go by so quickly? 👻
Have you checked out my Halloween-themed games section? Well...what are you waiting for? Go get those games for some seasonal fun. Also, what’s the worst packaged seasonal drink you’ve seen this season? I’ve seen a pumpkin-spiced Swiss Miss cocoa. 🤢 Is it cocoa or pumpkin? Who knows, but it looks god-awful. (☕ LOL) Now let’s continue this week.
…”The Last Recording”📼.
What is The Last Recording….
Found footage 🎞️ horror is a different kind of scare because it feels grounded in reality. It often features actors who weren’t mainstream at the time (depending on when it was filmed), which makes everything feel just a little more believable. It’s also a style that’s nearly impossible to recreate, which is why Blair Witch II never captured the same magic as the original.
That shaky handheld camera, low-budget look, and imperfect filming only add to the feeling that maybe you’re watching something you weren’t supposed to see. Today’s movie…
DAY #9
MOVIE: Ghost Watch, 1992
IMDb: 7.3%
Genre: Found Footage Horror, Drama, Mystery
Starring: Michael Parkinson ✨ Sarah Greene ✨ Mike Smith
SYNOPSIS: Events soon spiral out of control as four TV reporters investigate strange occurrences at a haunted house in a 1992 pseudodocumentary. [TRAILER] 🎞️
💡 THOUGHTS: Jumping in here because I’m not providing commentary on every movie this year, but there are a few I have to speak on (albeit briefly).
Since Ghostwatch was filmed in 1992, its age and limited technology are definitely evident, but that doesn’t take away from what the movie was trying to do. We have to remember found footage for what it was at the time, and since this predates The Blair Witch Project, it’s one of those niche faux documentaries I think you should see at least once.
Now, is this for everyone? Absolutely not. I didn’t think it was the best movie, despite its high ratings on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, and if you’re expecting something fast-paced or genuinely terrifying by today’s standards, this probably won’t be it. But if you’re a lover of horror movies—and especially interested in the evolution of found footage—it’s a must-see simply for what it did and when it did it.
“I think he’s come to hurt everybody.”
I hope you enjoyed your Day #9 movie post; stay tuned for Day #10 as we move into a few more found-footage flicks. Thank you for visiting. Happy Halloween 🪦🧟🎃🐈⬛🕯️
