I hope everyone is doing well, staying hydrated, getting plenty of rest, taking their vitamins, and giving themselves some grace.  Friends …Fall Approaches (September 22nd), and it’s time to get excited. Or maybe it’s just me.

I’m always excited for previews of Fall decor in stores, on Pinterest, and on YouTube. I love seeing what colors people are working with, what’s trending, and how some things never seem to go out of style while others definitely do. 🏮 LOL

I’m also curious about the changing trends at stores like Walmart, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx and how closely they line up with what I’m seeing online. Right now, folks are into moodier, classic decor—linen fabrics, golds, burnt oranges, bronze tones, and darker woods. It feels like everything I was looking for four years ago is suddenly everywhere.

What I find interesting, though, is that everyone seems to be decorating their homes almost identically. And while I love seeing people embrace a new style, I also feel like some of that collected, lived-in look is getting lost along the way.

Yes, art with trees, flowers, and dark, cloudy landscapes will always give you that moody Fall feeling, but what about art that actually reflects what you like? What about personal photos, something thrifted that caught your eye, or pieces you’ve collected during your travels?

To me, nothing feels more personal—or more like home—than that.

Whew, that was long enough, right?  Now here are a few things that topped my Walmart list for that fall aesthetic.

I chose everything here with a few parameters. First, everything had to be a “Walmart” brand. Some of the items you see on the site are actually from Marketplace sellers, and you don’t always know where those items are coming from. One way I filter those out is by choosing “In-store” and making sure the shipping time is under three days.

I also paid a little more attention to quality this year. I picked up a cute little fall-themed vase last year, and recently noticed a crack in the glaze with a small piece missing. Mind you, it was under $10 when I bought it, so I’m hoping to get a few more years out of it by simply positioning it so you can’t see the damage. LOL.

That also made me a little more cautious about printed or overly seasonal pieces this year. The only printed item I’ve added is that oval artwork, which feels like something I can use for more than one season.

I think you’re safe with the lumbar pillow, though. ☺️

My Fall 🍁🎃🍂 Inspiration

I can’t go full ham on everything because I have limited surfaces, and yes, I actually live in this space, so just a few touches here and there are enough to bring forth cooler temps, or maybe that’s just my wishful thinking.

Note: for the dining & bar photo, I’ve digitally added in my artwork.  I’m having it printed (for real), so I’ve hung the frame in place, which was a steal at the Restore for $10 bucks.  I love ❤️ thrifting. 

The only items purchased for “fall” decor are the flowers in the stairwell and the art I’m having printed.  Everything else I shopped from my storage unit.  I did find some cute jack-o’-lanterns and hydrangeas at ALDI.  There are so many unexpected surprises in those aisles.
