Wintering 2026: A Few of My Favorite Things

Posted on February 8, 2026February 6, 2026 by LifeByWyetha

Hey Friend! Thank you, I’m glad you stopped by today.

“I like being an island. A well-fortified one surrounded by sharks”. — Wednesday (Netflix)

Hello everyone. I hope you’re doing well—staying grounded, keeping the winter blues at bay, taking care of your mind, getting enough rest, and finding small pockets of joy wherever you can. Don’t forget to check in on your friends and family, as the winter blues can set in for folks.

Friends, I took a stroll back through the LBW archives for this one. I try not to always repeat content, but truth be told — things evolve from year to year. Depending on the season of life I’m in, there may be a new self-care ritual finding its way into my routine, a craft I suddenly can’t get enough of, or a skincare product that my face refuses to live without.

I like to think of these posts as little check-ins — a pause to take stock of what’s working, what’s bringing me comfort, and what’s earned a permanent place in my daily rhythm. And since I only share them twice a year, you know whatever makes this list has truly stood the test of time.

I am, at my core, a creature of habit. When I find something I love, I commit. I’ll use it, read it, make it, or return to it again and again until it no longer serves me or simply isn’t feasible. Fickle is not a word I’d use to describe myself — at least not when it comes to the things that ground me.

So what I’m sharing today are my genuine favorites — the tried-and-true, the repeatedly reached-for, the small joys that quietly shape my days. And if history tells me anything, many of these will be sticking around for the rest of the year.

LINKS

Saltair Body Oil
~ Loving this, it feels so luxurious after a shower ~

Crew ✰ Slouch Socks
~ These socks are so warm and a throwback to what I had when I was younger ~

Puffer Gloves
~ A necessity in these cold winters ~

Kolchak ✰ : The Night Stalker
~ My evening ritual, my 70s guilty pleasure, Kolchak has a HUGE cult following, and even though I’ve seen them all several times, it’s so fun to watch as I wind down. ~

NYX Lip Fat Oil
~ My daughter turned me on to this fantastic lip oil. Keeps my lips hydrated and comes in many shades.~

As I Am ✰ Rosewater
~ This is so soothing to my scalp, and it’s a great refresher after my curls have been squished in a bonnet all night.~

Lantern Light
~ A steal at Michael’s (at 75% off) after the Christmas holiday, it’s actually Christmas decor, but I use it every night in place of my big lamp.  Give me just enough light to wind down.

Anecdote ✰ mini journal
~ I keep this small notebook in my bag to capture everything—from to-do lists to books on my wishlist and movies I’ve watched. Sure, I could use my phone, but writing feels like a forgotten art, and seeing it on paper makes it far more meaningful.~

Sunshades
~ I picked these up at World Market, and I’ve been enjoying them ever since. Made from recycled material, they are so stylish.~

Kindle
~ Store hundreds of titles right at your fingertips. I love my Kindle, and it lives by my bedside, so there’s no excuse for not reading a chapter or two. ~

Friends, these are the little things I reach for (almost) every single day—the comforts and favorites that make life feel a bit sweeter. Now I’d love to hear from you. What can’t you do without? A favorite sweater, cozy slippers, your go-to tea, or maybe a craft you’re currently enjoying? Share it in the comments.

With that, I’ll wrap things up. Thank you so much for stopping by today, and don’t forget to follow or like, so you don’t miss what’s next. I’ll see you soon. ~ Deuces ✌🏾
