20 Journal Prompts To Live Well

Posted on May 19, 2025June 8, 2025 by LifeByWyetha

Hello Friends, and welcome to the blog today.

“I chose not to be worried. Worrying takes effort, and one must be selective about where one expends effort these days.”– September House

Friends, I hope you are doing well. Please take care and get plenty of rest, take your vitamins, and drink plenty of water.

I used to be very good at journaling. I would write 750 words daily, but that soon moved to once a week, then twice a month, and now every few months. I know I want to continue, and I started in 2025 by writing a paragraph a day. Once I missed a day, that turned into a week, and well, here we are.

Over the past three years, I’ve fallen off.  I’ll start a challenge and then forget to return to my online Penzu journal.  I still keep my food journal, but that’s all I have the time for.  I want to carve out 15 minutes three times per week using a journal prompt so I have some guidance, and I’m not just rambling; however, there’s nothing wrong with that either, because at least you’re getting any ill feelings out of your system.

I’ve curated a quick list, but you should be open to write whatever moves you, when you need it.

 📝 20 Journal Prompts for Better Living

1  // 𖡎 If your body could speak to you, what would it say?

2 // 𖡎 Describe what home feels like? What places do you recognize as “home”?

3  // 𖡎 If you could relive one year of your life, which year would you choose and why?

4  // 𖡎 What skill would you like to develop in the next five years?

// 5 //
What are the best things in your life right now?

6 // 𖡎 What holiday traditions or annual rituals are the most important to you?

7 // 𖡎 When were you most outside of your comfort zone?

8 // 𖡎 If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?

9 // 𖡎 What topic could you stand up and talk passionately about for five minutes? What would you say?

// 10 //
Write a quote that is meaningful to you. Explain why it impacts you.?

11 // 𖡎 What do you wish you had learned in high school?

12 // 𖡎 What is your idea of a perfect Saturday? Describe it in detail, starting with waking up.

13 // 𖡎 Reflecting on the past year, what has been the best and worst moment?

14 // 𖡎 What does the sky look like today? How does it make you feel?

// 15 //
What do you need MORE of in your life right now?

16 // 𖡎 What’s the best thing that happened to you in the last thirty days?

17 // 𖡎 Identify the biggest distractions in your life and ways you can reduce or eliminate them.

18 // 𖡎 Which things make you grateful to be alive, even on bad days?

19 // 𖡎 What physical activities or movements make you feel the happiest, joyful, and confident?

// 20 //
Identify three things you could give up that would give you more time, money, or peace.

Friends, I hope I’ve provided some mindful cues to help you start your journal journey. Getting started is always the hardest part, but writing it out is cathartic. It doesn’t matter if you use one of the prompts I’ve listed, create them on your own, or just freestyle. Journaling can help you cope in these chaotic times.

With that, I’ll end here. Thanks so much for visiting the blog today.  Don’t forget to follow or subscribe. — Peace —
