Hello Friends, and welcome to the blog today.
“When life throws you lemons, you make lemonade, When life throws you trash, throw it out, feeling extremely thankful that I have the ability to determine between the two.”― Bonnie Zackson Koury
Friends, are we wintering? Are you tired of the cold in your neck of the woods? I will remind my folks that it’s still winter, and Mother Nature is not done. [LOL] I hope everyone is doing well, getting plenty of rest, drinking water, and making the best of the season.
Just like all shopping, I sometimes have to remind myself that I don’t need [all that] stuff, but let’s face it, buying the odd trinket or a piece of art for my home makes me happy, and the place for happiness is Etsy. From digital art to stickers, calendars, planners, furniture, and skin care…you can do it all. I shop at my black-owned stores year-round, but I wanted to highlight a few of my favs on Etsy.

Paper Play And Wonder
In our tech-saturated world, if you were to put a couple of boxes, pots, and pans in front of kids, they’d create buses, firetrucks, drum sets, and numerous other things just from their imaginations! That is a huge part of what drives the passion here in my shop. I want to foster creativity and fun fueled by imagination! After all, imaginations are terrible things to waste!
CLAYbyKimberleigh
My work consists of a collection of handmade functional and decorative ceramics thrown on the potter’s wheel with either stoneware or porcelain clays. All functional ware items are food, dishwasher, and oven-safe.

Harlem Roots
Harlem Roots was founded in Corrina’s Harlem kitchen while she lived in the community where her parents were raised. As a Black historical hub, Harlem holds generational knowledge of resilience, community, and creation. Harlem Roots creates accessible and flavorful plant medicine that is an ode to this inheritance and a call to reclaim ancestral healing wisdom.
Friends it is so important to support small businesses and shop local when you can. These artisans put their blood, sweat, and tears into their products, and we keep them thriving. On that note, I’ll end here. Thanks so much for visiting the blog today. Don’t forget to follow or subscribe. — Peace —
