Countdown to Christmas…Moody, Rustic Holiday Inspo

Happy Holidays, and welcome back to the blog!

QUOTE
“My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?”― Bob Hope

Hello friends, are you excited yet? I hope you’re getting plenty of rest. Staying hydrated, not stressing this holiday, and connecting with friends and family. STOP 🛑 right now and take 3 minutes, close your eyes, and <<<breathe>>>.  You are present, you matter, and everything will be ok.

Friends, I don’t know about you, but the holiday season has been incredibly draining this year. I’ve been having a hard time staying motivated. Work is work, but Christmas is always the best time for me. I love decorating and just being in the spirit of Christmas when everything starts to slow down and becomes quiet.

I don’t follow Christmas decor trends, nor can I afford to change things up every year, but I have noticed (Pinterest mostly) the shift towards a more muted rustic holiday.  There are more deep tones like shades of brown and taupe, greens, and reds.  Lots of pretty ribbons adorn everything with lush greenery.  Decorating with live or faux garland is so festive, and the Norfolk pine is the most realistic.

I love how you can achieve the styles above (or a variation) by using the bare minimum. All you need is some greenery (real or faux), ribbon, rustic bells, lights, candles, and a few holiday accessories.  Here are some great finds from a few of my favorite stores.
