Hello friends, and welcome or welcome back to the blog!

Friends, how are you? I hope you’re doing well, and I wish you joy, health, and prosperity this season. Make sure you take care of yourself, get plenty of rest, stay hydrated, and tuck into a good book this season.

Home decor is my happy place, and maybe I love it a little too much. I’m not literally bursting at the seams (yet), but ask me to walk past a beautiful home accessory and I instantly start scheming where to put it. Can anyone else relate?
But let’s be real—there’s a difference between a thoughtfully styled space and stuffing every surface “just because it’s cute.”
How many times have you been to Home Goods or Thrifting this new year?
I’ve been checking out stores in person and online, seeing what’s new this season, and of course, I want everything. Traditionally, I don’t follow trends—and for good reason. What’s in today can feel outdated tomorrow, and frankly, my wallet has no interest in keeping up with that kind of chaos. Trends move fast; home style shouldn’t have to.

That said, I do believe you only need a handful of thoughtful updates to give a space—or even a small vignette—a noticeable style boost. A new texture here, a layered element there, and suddenly the room feels refreshed without being reinvented.
I’ve curated a small list of what’s popping up in home stores this season, and at the top of the search are pottery, rattan, warm wood pieces, tapestry-style textiles, and vintage art. There’s also a noticeable shift toward spaces that feel collected rather than curated—rooms layered over time, filled with texture, and softened by curved lines.
What I love most about this direction is that it encourages homes to feel artfully lived-in, not staged or too precious. A room can be beautiful and functional. It can tell a story, hold memories, and still invite you to put your feet up at the end of the day. Comfort and intention can absolutely coexist—and that’s where the magic really happens.

Another Option …Try Thrifting!
SUSTAINABLE but STYLISH // Eco-friendly decor isn’t just a trend—it’s the trend. Reclaimed wood, recycled items, and artisanal pieces with a story are everywhere. And honestly? It’s the perfect excuse to shop ethically and beautifully.
So… How Much Is Too Much?
Here’s the trick:
Decor should elevate your space—not overwhelm it.
Ask yourself:
- Does this item add joy or visual noise?
- Does it reflect who I am—or just what I think I want right now?
- Does it complement what’s already here?
- If the answer leans toward “yes,” bring it home. If not? Let it stay on your Pinterest board (for now 👀).

2026 is the year for intentional style—not clutter. It’s about making thoughtful choices that bring warmth, personality, and a bit of joy to our homes. Because if decor is our happy place… then our homes should feel happy too.
Thanks for stopping by, and that’s all for today.
— Peace ✌🏽
