🎄❆.⛸️12 Days of Christmas (Days 8-10)…Holiday Fun!

Happy Holidays! and …Welcome or Welcome back to the blog.

“Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everybody believed in everybody?” — A Season of Miracles

Hello, my friends.  I hope you are doing well, feeling comfortable in your skin, enjoying the season, and taking some time to slow down.

Friends, it’s Day 10 of the “12 Days of Christmas,” and the décor is up, the shopping is done, the gifts are wrapped, Christmas dinner is planned, and the parties are behind us. With my holiday vacation officially set to begin, I’m finally looking forward to slowing down and soaking in some much-needed time off.

This is the time of year when we lean into movies, trivia, and games, and I bake a batch or two of cookies. I’m also doing one final clean of the house before the holiday and pulling out the fancy glasses and tableware—because why not? (LOL)

Today I want to share some puzzles, cookie recipes, a few libations, and my Holiday Movie Bingo, so let’s get started.

Let’s Puzzle!

Our typical go-to is one of our 1,000-piece White Mountain puzzles, a tradition we come back to every year. We’ve tackled a Charlie Brown puzzle in the past, along with one featuring holiday stamps and wreaths. This year, we’re changing things up with a Hallmark holiday puzzle that’s only 500 pieces—perfect for a quicker turnaround and instant satisfaction. Below are a few puzzles currently sitting in my shopping cart for next year’s holiday season.

I love finding unique shops like Puzzles of Color, Puzzledly, and Gailson because I like supporting small businesses, but you can also find puzzles at Etsy, Target, Walmart, or White Mountain.

My Go-To Cookie Recipes

I always make three types of cookies during the holidays—they’re my tried-and-true staples. I’ve veered off course over the years, experimenting with rosemary butter cookies, lemon sugar cookies, and even a cake I baked twice that still didn’t turn out right (thanks to my oven running 15 degrees hotter than the setting). But cookies? Those I can always tweak and fine-tune until they’re just right.

Holiday Spirits

I love my wine, but there’s something special about when my daughter mixes up a festive cocktail. Each year she makes holiday drinks, and they are all delicious. This year, I’m planning to try my hand at mulled wine. I found a few different recipes, but settled on one from All Right With Me. My only tweak is skipping the added sugar—between the apple cider and the wine, it’s already sweet enough.

Holiday Movie Bingo

I know this is a bit of a shameless plug, but I love sharing my holiday movie bingo. It could probably use a little tweaking, but if I overthink it, it’ll never be ready in time for the season—so after hours of tinkering, I’m calling it done. I do plan to add more cards eventually, but for now, three was all I could create without becoming repetitive. As we all know, most holiday movies follow the same familiar themes—unless you’re watching Krampus or Die Hard. And even then, they still stick to the basic holiday structure: one with action, the other rooted in folklore.

So print these out… enjoy, and if you think I should add more images, share your thoughts below.
