Hello friends, and welcome!

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are doing well, giving yourself grace, enjoying some cozy seasonal drinks, and checking in with friends and family during this holiday season.

Friends, I meant to be ahead of the game and share this post last week—but you know how it goes… life be lifin’. Honestly, I’m still earlier than I was last year, so that’s progress. (Who even am I?)
Today, I’m sharing my two (or three) week Thanksgiving holiday home and meal prep. I’ve already been checking off a few things behind the scenes, and if you’re planning any gathering, a little prep work now can make everything go a lot more smoothly later.

With that, let’s get prepared for Thanksgiving.
(If I were actually one time) This would be before the 3rd week mark
The summer, fall, and Halloween decor have definitely left their mark—literally—on my walls. This year, after I packed away all the Halloween goodies, I went around the house, filling in all the little holes and oopsies, then sanded and touched up the paint. I’ve also been making an effort to keep my dining table clear (a minor miracle in itself).
- At the 3-week mark: So yes, I’m running behind…
- We confirm guests and plan the menu. We’re keeping things simple this year. Around this time, I also like to give my oven a good cleaning and wipe down the countertops and cabinets for a fresh start before the holiday rush.
- At the 2-week mark:
- Shopping Round 1: This is when I pick up all my non-perishable items and my frozen brined turkey from Trader Joe’s. I also take this time to restock my baking essentials and give the fridge a good clean-out. While I’m at it, I check my containers (we’ve switched to all glass now), along with any gadgets or small appliances I’ll need for cooking and serving.
- Thanksgiving Week:
- This last week will consist of buying my fresh greens, herbs, and wine, as well as flowers or greenery. I’ll also decorate my table, give my foyer a thorough clean, and clear out any clutter to make room by moving things upstairs. Still, here’s a breakdown…
- Monday: Last of the shopping
- Tuesday: Making my herb butters, cleaning my greens
- Wednesday: Clean my half bath and entryway, set my table; make my collards, start the macaroni noodles, make my pies
- Thursday: Showtime! (LOL)
- Friday: Relax, Mystery movie marathon
- This last week will consist of buying my fresh greens, herbs, and wine, as well as flowers or greenery. I’ll also decorate my table, give my foyer a thorough clean, and clear out any clutter to make room by moving things upstairs. Still, here’s a breakdown…
Storage and Decor Ideas
This was our 2023 Thanksgiving menu — I have no idea what happened to 2024, and have yet to create our 2025 menu.
(Coming soon)

Well, friends, that’s it for today — now the work continues. Thank you so much for checking out this little post, and I wish you a safe, cozy, and delicious Thanksgiving. Eat well and enjoy time with your loved ones. — Peace
