31 Days of Halloween in Movies: Day #25 (Shaun of the Dead)

Posted on October 25, 2025November 6, 2025 by LifeByWyetha

Happy Friday, and welcome back to the 31 Days of Halloween in movies.

Quote from WEDNESDAY
“Anytime I grow nauseous at the sight of a rainbow or hear a pop song that makes my ears bleed, I’ll think of you.” — Wednesday, Sn 1

“It’s Day 25—and a little misstep on my part! My 31 Days of Halloween movie series officially wrapped up, but while recapping the month, I realized I completely forgot to share Part 2 for this movie. 🍂 So here I am, on November 6, adding my missing entry. It feels fitting, honestly—fashionably late, a little out of season, but still keeping the spooky spirit alive just a bit longer.”

🎬 About Today’s feature 🎬

A romantic comedy with zombies.

Day #25

MOVIE: Shaun of the Dead
Director: Edgar Wright
Year: 2004
Rated: R
IMDB Rating: 7.8
Genre: Dark Comedy, Zombie Horror, Parody
Runtime: 1h 39m
Tomato 🍅 Meter:  92%
Starring: ✨ Simon Peg ✨ Kate Ashfield ✨ Nick Frost

SYNOPSIS: Shaun is a 30-something loser with a dull, easy existence. When he’s not working at the electronics store, he lives with his slovenly best friend, Ed, in a small flat on the outskirts of London. The only unpredictable element in his life is his girlfriend, Liz, who wishes desperately for Shaun to grow up and be a man. When the town is inexplicably overrun with zombies, Shaun must rise to the occasion and protect both Liz and his mother. [TRAILER]

MY RATING [0-5]: (✨4.9✨) Shaun of the Dead 🧟‍♂️ This is probably one of the silliest horror movies I’ve ever seen—and trust me, I’ve seen plenty. While there are definitely others that take the crown for pure absurdity, Shaun of the Dead always makes my list for its perfect blend of humor and horror. The zombies here aren’t exactly terrifying—they just want to eat your brains and steal your knowledge (in the most ridiculous way possible). It’s campy, not really scary, full of over-the-top kills, and an absolute blast from start to finish.
