Welcome back to the 31 Days of Halloween in movies.
Quote from Wednesday
“You know what I say about feelings. Bury them deep inside and allow them to slowly eat away at you”. — Wednesday, Season 2
22 days in the 31 Days of Halloween movie series. Are you enjoying the season? Have you seen any scary movies? Made a fun craft or art…well (you know what comes next). Get up, get out, and do something fun.

It’s Horror Comedy Week!
Horror comedy is not limited to slasher horror, but can incorporate other themes, often weaving in moments of comedic relief—an essential balance when the subject matter becomes heavy. The humor breaks the tension, giving audiences a breather between the scares. Over the years, this blend has gained momentum, making the genre as popular as its more traditional counterpart.
🎬 About Today’s feature 🎬
“We can’t all die first.”
NOTE: I’m currently creating a “horror” tagline quiz. Some of the clues can be found in my daily post for this series.

SYNOPSIS: The Blackening centers around a group of friends who reunite for a Juneteenth weekend getaway only to find themselves trapped in a remote cabin with a twisted killer. Forced to play by his rules, the friends soon realize this ain’t no motherfu**in’ game. The Blackening skewers genre tropes and poses the sardonic question: if the entire cast of a horror movie is Black, who dies first? [TRAILER]
MY RATING [0-5]: (✨5.0!✨) I remember how hyped I was for this movie—seriously, how can you not get excited over a tagline like “We Can’t All Be First”? In horror, people of color have too often been reduced to stereotypes such as the sacrificial friend, the funny sidekick, or the stubborn one who doesn’t make it past the first act. For decades, Black characters were nearly invisible in the genre, stepping in only to kick ass, take names, and then go down swinging.
What I love about this movie is how it elevates everything to the next level. It reminds us that we can be resourceful when the situation calls for it, fierce when it matters, and always ready to stand by our friends. And let’s not forget—it’s absolutely hilarious. Best of all, this time around, not all of us meet an early end.
