Be abducted by aliens or chased by a serial killer?
Friends, it’s Day 16 of the 31 Days of Halloween in moviesāand my lovely Blog-tober.Ā Iām really savoring every moment of October and wishing it wouldnāt fly by so fast. Iāve been soaking up the season by putting up all my Halloween dĆ©cor, enjoying cozy treats, and leaning into everything autumn has to offer. Thereās just something special about this time of yearāthe crisp air, the spooky vibes, and the little rituals that make it feel magical.
Make sure you get plenty of rest, check out a Halloween playlist, and spend some time with friends and family.

We continue with “Cult Classic” movies this week and films loved by a passionate, dedicated, and often niche fanbase. With that, we move to today’s feature.

MY RATING [0-5]: (āØ3.9āØ) The Evil Dead isnāt the best horror film out there in terms of plot or acting, but thatās part of its lasting charm. The over-the-top gore and low-budget charm of this wildly campy movie blend exaggerated scares with a grim sense of humor.Ā Its intense violence can be off-putting for the squeamish.
Itās a cult classic thatās crossed generations, celebrated as much for its ridiculous decisionsālike reading from a clearly cursed book. While the story is simple (a group of people do precisely what they shouldn’t), that predictability is part of what makes cult horror so fun. You know what’s coming, and youāre here for the chaos. Often labeled as dark horror or even folk horror, Evil Dead blends raw, campy energy with unsettling atmosphere, creating a gruesome experience that somehow keeps fans coming back decade after decade. Itās beloved by fans of horror and midnight movies alike.
