31 Days of Halloween: Day #11 …Welcome to the Haunted Mansion

Posted on October 11, 2025October 14, 2025 by LifeByWyetha

Hello, precious, and welcome to Day #11 of the 31 Days of Halloween.

Halloween: Would You Rather
“If you were in a horror movie, would you rather be the first to die or the last to be alive?”

Hello friends, and Happy Saturday.  Today, I’m reposting some of my favorite Halloween Decor ideas for the season.  The Inpsos photos are of fireplace mantels, but that’s just a suggestion (in my book); you can recreate this style in any room of your home or create smaller vignettes.

Let’s break down these styles because they are all straightforward to recreate.

Gothic Motif Style #1

If you want to spend a little 💵 (and I mean a little), you can get this style by shopping at Amazon, your local thrift store, or Dollar Tree. It also depends on how big an area you’re decorating, but decorating a small area can be done on a budget.

Items List
Faux roses or Peonies ~ Amazon
Pillar Candle Holders ~ Amazon, Thrift
Skulls ~ Amazon, Michaels, Joanne’s, Dollar Tree

Gothic Motif Style #2

This is Halloween decor for people who don’t care for skulls or anything super creepy. It can be achieved with dark flowers, branches, and a few pumpkins.

Items List
Dark flower spray with branches ~ Michaels
Glass pumpkins ~ Amazon, Target, Dollar Tree
Pillar Candles ~ Amazon, Dollar Tree, Local Grocery store

Haunted Mirror Motif

This is another easy Halloween decor style, and if you have extras (like me), you can pull some of these items from around your home. One of the mirrors pictured is broken, so I’m not sure if you want to sacrifice one (LOL), but hey…don’t throw those cracked mirrors away until after Halloween.

Items List
Mirrors ~ Thrift, shop your home
Pillar Candle Holders ~ Amazon, Thrift
Candles ~ Amazon, grocery store
Whiskey Decanter ~ shop your home, used bottles, or amber glass bottles
Cobwebs ~ Amazon, Michaels, Dollar Tree
Creepy Figurines ~ Shop your home, Micheals

Creepy Doll Collection

This is one of the creepiest by far and probably the hardest to achieve. However, if you have a doll collection to display, or discarded dolls from the kids, this style may be for you. It’s one you won’t forget (LOL).

Items List
Mirror ~ Shop your home
Dolls ~ Shop your home or the thrift store
Cobwebs ~ Amazon, Michael’s

Haunted Pumpkin Patch

Another style that’s simple enough, but unless you have these items on hand, this requires some spending 💵 or a handy DIY-er.

Items List
Jack-O-Lanterns ~ DIY, Michael’s, Amazon, Joann’s
Fall Foliage (leaves, branches) ~ Garden Center, Home Depot, a local park
Pine Cones ~ Amazon, grocery store
Tea Lights ~ Amazon

Ghost Gallery

The ghost gallery style requires a bit of creativity and some printing.  Ghostly portraits can be found for free via Creative Commons. If you want to pay for a downloadable image, Etsy is also a great option, with costs starting at $2.99 per image.

Some old stacked books and the items you may currently have on display will set this vignette up nicely.

Items List
Art ~ Creative Commons/Etsy
Frames ~ Thrift or shop your home
Additional tchotchkes ~ shop your home

My decor board incorporates all the styles.

Beautiful people, I’ll end my post here.  I hope you have fun decorating this season in whatever style you choose.  Please share your ideas in the comments.  I’ll see you back here with more Halloween goodies. Thanks so much for stopping by today. I appreciate every visit and follow. 👻 Scary good
