Welcome friends, I’m glad to be back!
🍁 Autumn leaves don’t fall, they fly. They take their time and wander on this, their only chance to soar.” — Delia Owens, Where the Crawdads Sing
Hello friends, how are you? I hope you are doing well, staying hydrated, taking some days to unplug, taking care of your body, getting plenty of rest, and taking your vitamins.

Friends, I took a short break because, honestly, I needed it. This wasn’t a relaxing trip, but a fun one nevertheless. Our weekend detour …Vegas Baby! and we were not there to just gamble, frolic, and sightsee in 102 degree heat. We were there for the Backstreet Boys: Into The Millennium concert at the Sphere. BSB is in residence until the end of August, and again in December.
In a word, the show was AMAZING! The visuals blew my mind. BSB came on the scene during my daughter’s elementary through high school years. (New Edition was more in my timeframe.) Come on… Please don’t act like ya’ll don’t know those songs, 🎶 because you do. (LOL)
I remember buying the Millennium album for her when she was about eight or nine, and now, at 33, (for her) it was all the nostalgia we love. Unlike the other moms I saw at the concert, I didn’t get the “all white” memo. (because that’s the album cover), But I wasn’t the only one. 😮💨
Still, getting out of the DMV, adjusting to the 3-hour time difference, and just being in a different environment made me weep in a way, because it was what my body needed. I haven’t been anywhere that wasn’t a family reunion or funeral, or sick parent, in the last four years, so I just bit the bullet and we treated ourselves to something fun.
Oh, and let’s not forget all the walking. In just two days, my daughter and I walked about 39,995 steps. (or roughly about 17 miles)

Touristy Things
We took lots of pictures, and I’m only sharing a few, but taking in a few attractions like The Mob Museum, checking out the speakeasy located in the basement, and sipping some moonshine was all in good fun.
The Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Garden is always open, but a bit crowded. We thought that at 11:30 pm it would surely be less crowded, but we didn’t account for other tourists and conventions happening on the same night we visited. We also went to the old Vegas strip (Fremont Street), which is now an enclosed attraction with restaurants, bars, lots of souvenir shops, and oh yes …casinos. 🎰 You may ask, did we gamble? Only a little bit between The Venetian and The Pallazo, where we stayed. I won exactly what I put in. 🎲
Our time was short and sweet, and we plan on having many more mother-daughter 💗 getaways.

Let’s Get Back To It
Now that I’ve rested and recovered, I plan on getting back to some pre-Fall blog posts as well as my bookish newsletter, and wrapping up the month. I’m still planning out the season, so stay tuned for Fall-themed games, movies, book recommendations, and lots and lots of decor inspiration.
Friends, I’ll end this post here. Thanks so much for visiting my corner of the world. I appreciate all the love and support. — Peace ✌🏽
