31 Days of Halloween in Movies: Day #15 (Suspiria, 1977)

Posted on October 15, 2025October 19, 2025 by LifeByWyetha

Welcome back to the 31 Days of Halloween in Movies.

🪦 Would You Rather? 🪦
Stay the night in a haunted house or in a cemetery?

Hey, hey, hey! It’s Day 15 of  “Blogtober” and the 31 Days of Halloween.  It’s so sad to be at the halfway mark because that means it’s only a few weeks until October ends.  No matter how stressed life gets, you can’t take my joy of October. Friends, I hope you are enjoying the season, putting up some decorations, and enjoying a Fall walk.

We continue this week with “Cult Classic” movies.  They are films loved by a passionate, dedicated, and often niche fanbase, rather than the general public. These movies usually have a reputation for being transgressive, avant-garde, or critically dismissed, but have earned a devoted following over time due to their unique qualities, such as their challenging themes, quirky characters, or memorable dialogue.

🎬 About Today’s feature 🎬

It’s Germany, it’s the 70s, and it’s set at a prestigious ballet school with a secret history.

Day #15

MOVIE: Susperia (1977)
Director: Dario Argento
Year: 1977
IMDB Rating: 7.5
Genre: Folk-Horror, Slasher, Psychological
Runtime: 1h 32m
Tomato 🍅 Meter:  94%
Starring: ✨ Jessica Harper ✨ Stefania Casini ✨ Flavio Bucci ✨

SYNOPSIS: An American newcomer to a prestigious German ballet academy comes to realize that the school is a front for something sinister amid a series of grisly murders. [TRAILER]

MY RATING [0-5]: (✨4.0✨) This is a strange (far-out) 70s cult classic with glorious cinematography and beautifully filmed scenes and imagery. I can’t give it away but once you find out what’s behind the strange incidents at the dance school, it all falls into place. The look and feel of this film is something horror movies will continue to emulate. This is a must-see in the film on your journey.
