Monthly Wrap

Let’s Wrap Up The Month Of January!

Hello friends, and how are you today…welcome to the blog!

WINTER QUOTE
“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.” Edith Sitwell

I hope you’re being productive, checking in with friends and family, staying hydrated, and enjoying the season.

It’s the beginning of February and freezing cold.  Folks are still feeling that January buzz and decluttering everything, signing up for gym memberships, and buying equipment they will never use.  The beginning of the year is always the time for pledges.

I’ll eat better, stick to a budget, travel more, spend time with my family and the list goes on.  This is not to say that these aren’t good things, but I like to follow the motto of …” just do a little better this year than last year”.  Who am I making these empty promises to? No one.  Let’s keep it real, live better for you, and not because some blog or other facet of social media says so.  And so it goes.

Here is a round-up of posts for the month of January.

Fresh Spaces

I have just about all I’m gonna do when it comes to paring down and decluttering.  I did a big chunk at the end of December and continued up until last weekend.  My bag of donations is sitting in a corner, and I plan on doing some painting so that by spring it will look fresh and clean.

Below is my bedroom closet, and believe it or not I’ve given away a few more shoes, but I did get a new pair of combat boots. (not pictured…LOL)

Nothing But TV

I will admit that I’ve binged more than my share of TV just in January alone.  Not so much in the movie department but more so in shows and a few documentaries.

SHOWS
All of Us Are Dead (Netflix)
The Crown (Netflix)
A Handmaids Tale, Season 5 (Hulu)
Pokerface (Peacock)…ongoing
American Horror Story: NYC (Hulu)

DOCUMENTARIES
Harry & Meghan (Netflix)
Ghislane Maxwell: Filthy Ritch (Netflix)
Casey Anthony: Where Truth Lies (Peacock)

I’ve only watched a handful of movies that include There’s Someone Inside Your House, Mr. Harrington’s Phone, Furie, and The Villianess.

Books this Month

I finished Rules for Vanishing in mid-January, so I moved on to The Book of Cold Cases, in which I have about 10 more pages to read before I’m done.  I’ve already started a new audiobook The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires, which does have some not-so-great tropes when it comes to women’s roles but it is hilarious.

GOOD READS CHALLENGE PROGRESS

February Calendars

I feel like I’m moving through molasses when it comes to creating new printables, but I’m working on it. My February calendars are available on the “Free Printables” page.

There is no gallery selected or the gallery was deleted.

Winter Podcast Series

Last but certainly not least is the podcast series that I created especially for this month called Chilling November tales.  Every weekend in November I would post a few stories.  I missed last week but alongside this post, I’m publishing my last episode.  I haven’t yet decided to continue this into December but I’ll keep you posted.
