Winter Good Reads

Happy Holidays Fam! Welcome to the blog today …I’m glad you landed here in my little corner.

Happy Friday!  It’s been a sweet short week for me here, and I’m thankful for it.  A work project was canned (which is good news), I’ve started my shopping (even though I only have 3 people to shop for), and my decorations are out.

I honestly don’t need anything (but who am I kidding).  I really don’t have any Holiday art, so I’m thinking of making something and downloading a cheap print from Etsy to frame.  Flanked by two pillar candles, and some live greenery will be all I need for my fireplace.  I will also probably make a beaded garland …we will see.

Winter Reading

After the holidays blow over it’s time to cozy up to good book.  I’m partial to mystery, thrillers, and horror although I do want to read Will as I hear it’s really good. Sounds like somthing I’m gifting myself for Christmas along with two bedside lamps and some boots. (LOL)

Some Anticipated Winter Good Reads

The Body Scout: A Novel by Lincoln Michel (3.85)

Kobo has some problems. His cybernetics are a decade out of date, he’s got a pair of twin sister loan sharks knocking on his door, and his work scouting for a baseball league run by pharmaceutical companies is about to go belly-up. Things couldn’t get much worse.

Upon A Midnight Dreary: Anthology by Various GoodReads Authors (4.28)

Many of your favorite Historical Romance authors have come together for a collection of never-before-published stories inspired by true, legendary hauntings of the British Isles. These tales will give you a chill, a thrill, and have you reading them over and over. From the moors of Devon to the ballrooms of Regency London, and far north into the Scottish Highlands, these stories will bring you wistful dreams of legendary and haunting romance. You’ve never before experienced a collection like this by some of the very best authors in Historical Romance.

Black Buck by Mateo Askaripour (3.78)

For fans of Sorry to Bother You and The Wolf of Wall Street—a crackling, satirical debut novel about a young man given a shot at stardom as the lone Black salesman at a mysterious, cult-like, and wildly successful startup where nothing is as it seems.

Shit Cassandra Saw: Stories by Gwen E. Kirby (Jan 11)

Cassandra may have seen the future, but it doesn’t mean she’s resigned to telling the Trojans everything she knows. In this ebullient collection, virgins escape from being sacrificed, witches refuse to be burned, whores aren’t ashamed, and every woman gets a chance to be a radioactive cockroach warrior who snaps back at catcallers.

The Maid: A Novel by Nita Prose (Jan 4)

Molly Gray is not like everyone else. She struggles with social skills and misreads the intentions of others. Her gran used to interpret the world for her, codifying it into simple rules that Molly could live by.

A History of Wild Places by Shea Ernshaw (Dec 7)

Travis Wren has an unusual talent for locating missing people. Hired by families as a last resort, he requires only a single object to find the person who has vanished. When he takes on the case of Maggie St. James—a well-known author of dark, macabre children’s books—he’s led to a place many believed to be only a legend.

What books do you like to read in the winter? Are they holiday themed, Mystery-Thrillers, or books to make you think.  Let me know down in the comments.

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog today.  Have a great weekend, I’ll see you back here next week. — Tis the Season, Peace.
