It’s Friday ya’ll, I hope everyone is doing well.  It’s been another busy week full of meetings, and useless focus time for more meetings.  Sometimes I feel like a hamster on a wheel, but guess that’s it goes sometimes.  I’m looking forward to a weekend away (as soon as I decide) where and just decompress.  Maybe a vineyard?

Today I’m sharing what I’ve been binging and what’s on my upcoming list for Spring and Summer

The Crown (8 Seasons)  | Netflix [Drama]

This lavish, Netflix-original drama chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s to modern times. The series begins with an inside look at the early reign of the queen, who ascended the throne at age 25 after the death of her father, King George VI. As the decade’s pass, personal intrigues, romances, and political rivalries are revealed that played a big role in events that shaped the later years of the 20th century. [Source IMBD, 8.6/10]

JUST STARTED –  I never thought I would be watching this but after the infamous Oprah interview, I just couldn’t help myself.  It was a bit dry in the beginning, but after 2 episodes, I was hooked.  The Crown is an inside peek into “The Company” and the hold the royal family has on its members, and all other parties involved.  [watching season 2]

Handmaid’s Tale (4 Seasons) | Hulu [Drama]

Based on the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood, this series is set in Gilead, a totalitarian society in what used to be part of the United States. Gilead is ruled by a fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state and is faced with environmental disasters and a plummeting birth rate.

In a desperate attempt to repopulate a devastated world, the few remaining fertile women are forced into sexual servitude. One of these women, Offred, is determined to survive the terrifying world she lives in, and find the daughter that was taken from her. [Source Hulu, IMBD 8.6/10]

MY REVIEW | If your read this book it will hit you at the core, so watching the series was a natural progression.  I started watching this a few years ago and it’s eye-opening.  Hands down, it’s the best series.  I will pull at your heartstrings, it will piss you off, it will stir every type of emotion, and I just can’t get enough.  A must-see! THIS IS FOR MATURE AUDIENCES. [watching current season]

Them (Limited Series) | Amazon Prime [Horror]

This limited anthology series explores terror in 1950s America. This series centers on a Black family who moves from North Carolina to an all-white Los Angeles neighborhood during a period known as The Great Migration. The family’s idyllic home becomes ground zero where malevolent forces, next-door and otherworldly, threaten to taunt, ravage and destroy them. [Source: Rotten Tomatoes | IMBD 7.2/10]

NOT VIEWED:  I’ve heard good things about this series that I’ve yet to start watching.  I’m apprehensive not because it’s horror.  (That’s nothing, I love horror) it’s the other elephant in the room, which is always hard to see, but interesting nonetheless, so it goes on the list.

Cruel Summer (Limited Series) | Hulu or FreeForm [Drama]

In a small Texas town when a popular teen, is abducted and, seemingly unrelated, a girl, goes from being a sweet, awkward outlier to the most popular girl in town and, by ’95, the most despised person in America. [Source: IMBD 7.5/10]

STARTED: B and I started this series a few weeks ago and I’m impressed.  I don’t know who’s lying, what really happened, or the mystery behind the kidnapping, but the story gets better and better as it unfolds.  Executive produced by Jessica Biel from The Sinner, it follows the same format except it’s for young adults.  Can’t wait to get to the meat on the bone with this one.

Blind Spot (5 Seasons) | Hulu [Drama]

When a woman with no memory of who she is or how she got there is discovered in Times Square, the conspicuous etching of FBI Agent Kurt Weller’s name across her back quickly makes it obvious to whom the case should be assigned. An international plot blows up as Agent Weller and his team discovers that each intricate tattoo on Jane Doe’s body is a crime to solve, creating a map that leads ever closer to the truth about her identity and mysteries yet to be revealed.

WATCHING: I started watching Blindspot when it premiered a few years ago but fell off due to (you guessed it) more TV.  My daughter and I were looking for another show to watch after we finished Elementary and this was on the list.  It has its twists and turns and I’m remembering the reason why I wanted to see it in the first place.  We are still trying to figure out the plot. Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy (Limited Series) | Hulu [Drama]

Academy Award nominee Stanley Tucci travels across Italy to discover the secrets and delights of the country’s regional cuisines.

WATCHING: What’s to love about Stanley Tucci traveling to Italy learning more about the different cultures, and regions while eating good food and drinking wine. Absolutely everything!  [watching season 1]
