Hello and welcome to the blog today.

Hello to all the beautiful friends!  Here we are on another Monday, and I can finally say that I actually got some sleep this weekend.  The election had me so stressed that it was hard to focus on anything. I’m talkin’ glass of wine every night stressed. LOL

However, it’s time to get back to some sort of normal around my home and get back on track.  Today I’m going to touch a little on what’s happening on the blog, future plans, my Poshmark store, and where I am on the home search.  So let’s get started.

The Blog

My Halloween blog schedule always leaves me winded. Last week I struggled to get things posted on time, and while that phase was ending I decided to change my whole website.  What prompted this?  Well … numbers.

Numbers

I told myself that I would not focus on the numbers and stats, and bounce rates. However, some of these things are within my control so I thought it was a great time for a refresh as we head into the winter season.  I’m still tweaking the website as it’s been a bear … (to say the least.) So far I love the new look.

Website & Social Media

Not only did I change my website, but I restructured my Instagram feed as well, and deleted all my content, and started new.  I can’t even say what prompted this, only that it was time for something different.

Whenever I make changes like these I always question whether or not it’s the right decision.

My website has always been a hobby that I love and what I pour my free time into, so if I don’t like something, or if an overall design is not working, it’s in my power to change it.

The Podcast

I’ve also been thinking a lot about whether or not I would still continue to do a podcast every Monday.  It worked out well for a time, but for the bulk of September, and all of October I didn’t record because of the content I was posting.

Recordings are fun, but it’s always a challenge to find a quiet time (that’s not 2 am) to do this and give some thought to what I put out to you all.  Right now I haven’t decided if I’m going to continue at this point because if I do one today, and then nothing for the next months or so, it’s inconsistent and that sends a confusing message, that I’m all over the place and I don’t know what direction to focus the blog.

So if I decide that I want to continue on some other topic or journaling like the 52 list series … it will be every Monday at some point.

Poshmark Store

Have you ever started something that you thought was a one-time deal, but it turned into something you didn’t expect?  Thats my store, and I think I’ve caught the bug.

Now to be real … selling things online is not easy, and I’ve put time and my own money into this store.  I told myself that everything I earned would help me pay off my credit cards, but when I earned my first $70 I thought well that’s not enough, and even if I paid one card that money, my store would be empty and thus I would be done.

So I took $50 and put that back into my store, and I’ll see where it goes from there. Poshmark is great for your closet clearout or a virtual garage sale, but if I want to see any return on my small investment, then I have to stick with it.

The Home Search

My home search has brought me to highs and lows.  There was one point during the summer when I was working with 2 mortgage companies, in talks with one more, and 3 real estate agents.  I felt like I was being told so many conflicting things that I wasn’t sure what was the right thing or how accurate that information was.

The one thing I did see is what was affordable, everything the agents were pushing, I was shooting down, because either it was too far from DC, expensive condo fees, or out of my price range.  I’ve been pretty flexible as to what I’m looking for but when I have a conference call with an agent and I go over what my home needs, somehow they still get it wrong.

I know there is a home out there for me, and I’m just trying to plan, plan, plan.  Saving more money so my offer will be attractive to prospective sellers. Paying down my credit cards, so that I get a better interest rate, and officially using my Credit Union for a cashback rebate that will give me money for a down payment or closing with no hidden fees.

I’m hoping that 2021 will be my year.  This year is pretty much shot because there was too much going on. Buying a home is a serious affair, and I don’t take this lightly.  I know that will find something and when it’s right, it’s right.
