Sunday Journal: Chit-Chat … 52 List for Happiness [#21]
Hello friends and happy Sunday. It’s a pretty dreary day today + but that doesn’t eclipse my sun. I’ve had a very productive morning as I wanted to rest yesterday + so I all my chores were done this morning. I’ve tried to minimize the amount of stress when it comes to tidying by doing a little bit every other day + so when the weekend comes I’m not stuck inside cleaning.
This weeks list speaks about opportunities in your life. The question asks … List the best opportunities that others have given you throughout your life. For starters + that’s a tall order + considering I would be going back about 32 years + to think on my life + and what I’ve experienced. Here are my responses.
- “M.H.” who took a chance on me + and understood that bad things happen to good people.
- “AT” for recognizing that I had a gift before anyone else did + she made me love widened my love for photography and design + and still used my work as an example for her students today.
- When I was 18 I had the opportunity to work with DC’s summer job program right out of high school + in which I gained experience in networking + and meeting people from all different backgrounds.
- “K” … a small business owner who knew I had the skills that just needed fine tuning.
TAKE ACTION: Gratefulness is such a huge source of happiness. Write a letter this week thanking one person whose kindness has given you an opportunity to grow.
Gratefulness “is” a huge part of happiness + and I when I look back at my life + and those people or persons + I know that I am blessed. I had a situation just today [which is why I’m posting late] that made me appreciate this list + and the people within it even more. People know your a good person + and when they see you struggle + or always trying to do better + it makes them want to bestow some of that kindness back to you. — “Pay it forward”
I’ve have experiences in my life that I’ve regretted + and experiences that have filled me with joy. These people knew that I had the potential + and they took a chance on me + and I will be forever grateful + and I will take this action … because nothing says “thank you” like a handwritten note + and me saying “If it wasn’t for you taking a chance on me + and blessing me with these opportunities + I wouldn’t be half the person I am today.
With that + I’ll close my post today. Thanks so much for visiting my blog + and I just want to say that I am blessed + I will be blessed + and I will try to bless others with opportunity + kindness + and faith. – [Know Thyself] Wye
Great post and glad that you could take a break! Enjoy the rest of your week!
We all need one every now and then….Thanks Claire
