52 List for Happiness

Sunday Journal: Chit-Chat … 52 List for Happiness [#19]

Hello Friends and Happy Sunday.  I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving [or Friendsgiving] holiday + and I hope you took the time to slow down relax + and enjoy the time with friends + and loved ones.

My Mom left yesterday + and it’s sad because we don’t live close to one another + so I always miss her presence [and yes we drive each other crazy] but that’s relationships … be them good + or bad + it doesn’t take away how much you love them + and how much they are needed in your life.

This weeks question or task in the journal says … “List the ways that you think someone you love would describe you.”19.jpg

  1. Caring
  2. Loves to talk
  3. Creative
  4. Takes care of loved ones
  5. Helpful
  6. You make it look easy
  7. Stubborn
  8. Obsess over my passions
  9. You did a good job

TAKE ACTION:  Now go ask them to list their favorite elements of who you are and compare your list to theirs.  Don’t be shy; it will make them so happy to tell you why they love you.

It’s interesting to think of what your loved ones would say about you + be it good or bad.  I would hope that they would be honest with me.  I know that I am many things + and I know that I have the potential to do great things + and be great + but often I don’t always feel that way.  My Mom is my biggest fan + and I reflect on some of the things she had said to me over the years … let’s call these … pearls.  When B graduated from college … she affectionately said … “You did a good job raising B”.  To hear those words makes me feel something that I don’t get to feel that often … proud.  I tear up a bit + because there were times where I didn’t know what I was doing.  I was flying by the seat of my pants + and just doing what I thought was right.  For all I know it could have been just the opposite + but when your head of your own household you do what’s necessary + and sometimes that isn’t always the right thing. But through prayer and family + I did what I needed to do.

My friends + and family will attest that I can be extremely stubborn about things.  If I feel strongly about it + I will not budge. My family also knows that when I’m passionate about something [i.e., my blog + my diorama + or a project in my home] I will constantly obsess about it while I’m working on it + and if I’m not working on it + I’m reading about it + or talking about it … until I’m done + and ready for something else I love to obsess about.

I won’t go into everything on this list as most of those are self-explanatory.  I’m not perfect + and I don’t pretend to be + I have faults just like everyone + but there are some things that you get right + and you don’t really have an explanation for it.  I call it blessed when things are effortless + and it’s only when I slow down do I see that others around me are paying attention.

With that + I’ll close my post today.  Thanks so much for visiting my blog + and with each post for this list + I hope that I can bring some of my happiness + and or wisdom to someone in need + because if you have happiness + and joy in your heart + you spread that happiness + and joy to others. – [Know Thyself] Wye

I'd love to hear your feedback!
