Honoring Mom on Mothers Day

Hello Friends and Happy Mothers Day to everyone.  When I think about my Mom and her impact on my life … I don’t know where I would be without her continued love and support.  Do we argue … absolutely + do we disagree … most definitely + but she’s still my Mom and the kindest most giving person that I will ever know.  From the time my daughter was born till now my Mom has been there to help emotionally and financially.  Growing up my Mom listened to a lot of gospel music and spirituals and there was one song that I use to hear every morning that reminds me of the sacrifice of mothers.  The song is called No Charge by Shirley Caesar and while I wont include the entire song here is just a snippet.

No Charge [Shirley Cesar]

My sister’s little boy came in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper
And he handed her a piece paper he had been writing on
And after wiping her hands on an apron
She took it in her hands and read it
And this is what it said …

For mowing the yard .. five dollars
And for making up my own bed this week .. one dollar
For going to the store .. fifty cents
And playing with little brother while you went shopping .. twenty five cents

Well she looked at him standing there and expecting
And a thousand memories flashed through her mind
So she picked up pen and turned the paper over and this is what she wrote:

For the nine months I carried you holding you inside me … no charge
For the nights I sat up with doctored you and prayed for you … no charge
For the time and tears and the costs through the years
There is no charge
When you add it all up the full cost of my love is … no charge

As a kid I never understood that song + but as an adult I never forgot it.  It’s something that’s embedded into my memory.  As a Mom you make many sacrifices for your kids + and you do this without even thinking because you want you kids to be happy + and successful.  You want their lives to be rich and filled with love and good memories.  It’s always been me and my daughter … us against the world + and whenever one of us get’s discouraged we are there to lift each other up.  One YouTuber family that I watch regularly made a comment that “when life gives you lemons you make Poweraide”. – Chad Raider [GabeBabeTV]

To this day I can’t imagine not being a mom + and not having someone to mentor and guide.  I know that nothing great in life is achieved by sitting on thy divine ass.  You’ve got to hustle + and you’ve got to work hard at everything especially relationships.  Being a Mom to me is the hardest job ever + and rewards are priceless.

I will end here.  I hope everyone has a blessed day today + and a great week.  Thanks so much for visiting my blog + and don’t forget to “like” + “comment” + and “follow”.updatedsignature
